SDCC Interview – Fede Alvarez – Don’t Breathe

Sarah interviews writer/director Fede Alvarez from the horror thriller Don’t Breathe at SDCC 2016.

The discussion touches upon the origin of the project, moving on after working on a film like Evil Dead, establishing tension and suspense in the plot, the strategy in casting the film, working with Jane Levy again, creating the setting for this film while filming in and around Detroit as well as abroad, the challenge in casting Stephen Lang‘s role and how he went about getting into character, raising the question if Fede has any interest or aspirations for projects outside of the genre of horror, and commenting upon the power of horror films to feed off the energy of its audience.
