You Make the Pick – Football Movies

RudyIt is that time of year again, the 2013 Super Bowl is almost upon us. Besides the competition on the field we thought this was an opportune time to determine the best football movie.

This is certainly going to be a competitive, there are lot of solid options, so please share the reasons behind your pick in the comments.

Thank you for participating in the Movie Bowl.

Spencer was born and raised in New Mexico. He grew up with the many great films of the 1980’s before having his world rocked after seeing The Usual Suspects. I pick Gus. Because nothing says football to me like a mule place kicker. Also, Don Knotts.

Wow, that sounds pretty awesome…I’ll have to check that one out.

Also Wildcats with Goldie Hawn as a High School football coach. And Black Sunday where there is a terrorist threat at the Superbowl. (Since we don’t care about the Superbowl at my house, we watch weird football-themed movies instead so we can justify having Superbowl snacks.)

Ah yeah, I totally forgot about Wildcats…that is a fun film.

The Sum of All Fears also has a terrorist attack at the Super Bowl…which I always found weird. Yeah, he stops the world from nuclear war but the Super Bowl is still blown up killing everyone.
